Seidel/Holzman is master planning this eighty acre redevelopment area in Kansas City, Missouri. A new freeway extension through the neighborhood, urban blight, and deteriorating infrastructure all need to be addressed. The plan intensifies the residential density,while retaining existing residences. New streets will be added to reduce the scale of existing blocks creating a pedestrian friendly district. A variety of community parks and open space will give the neighborhood focus. Virtually all private parking will be accessed from mid-block lanes preserving the street frontages.
